Christian Education

St. Luke’s uses a faith-based curriculum that is designed to help students grow in the formation of their faith in God through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Classes are available from Pre-K to grade 12 as well as two adult Sunday School Classes.

We also offer a special needs Sunday School class in the Adult Bible Study Room.  This course will be adapted to suit the unique ages, needs, and abilities of attendees. In this class, we will find engaging ways to learn the Bible through reading, discussion, and art.

These classes offer age appropriate lessons and activities.  Students are welcome from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM every Sunday from the Sunday after Labor Day through the second Sunday in June.

Saint Luke’s Library

Our library has many great books and videos for children, teens, and adults. You are welcome to come and browse the shelves where you will find stimulating and exciting titles that will deepen your understanding of God… or, you may simply find a good novel to read!  They include Heaven Is For Real by Todd Burpo, The Five People You Meet In Heaven & The First Phone Call From Heaven by Mitch Album, Confessions Of A Boy-Crazy Girl by Paula Hendricks, The Berenstain Bears Count Their Blessings, The Berenstain Bears Say Their Prayers, and When Darkness Tries To Hide by Stacy A. Padula.

Adult Education

St. Luke’s offers two adult Sunday School Classes.  Students are welcome from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM every Sunday from the Sunday after Labor Day through the second Sunday in June.

Adult Discussion Group

The Lutheran Magazine, issued monthly, kicks off the discussions of current events.  Discussions include our community and world events and how they relate to our living a life of faith both within the congregation and in our daily lives.  It is a good way to spend time with members of the congregation and to learn about St. Luke’s and the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America).  This class is held in the classroom across from the Library of the Church.

Adult Bible Study

All are welcome at Adult Bible Study.  There are no special requirements and it is a great opportunity to meet new people, have fun, and learn more about the Bible.  Study topics are chosen using Life Guide Bible Study booklets and a volunteer leader helps focus the discussion.  Examples of past topics include:  Angles, Good & Evil, and Growing Older & Wiser.  You may participate either in lively discussion or by simply listening.  A technique of imagining ourselves in the Bible scene helps us to understand and connect the message to daily life.  All opinions are valued and respected in the discussion, which includes prayer and mutual encouragement as we grow in faith.  The class meets in the adult classroom.

Adult Retreat

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church sponsors an adult retreat weekend once per year, as a time for reflection and relaxation.  It also offers a change to “get away from it all”.  Its a weekend that is partly reflection but mostly a time to rejuvenate with friends.  The memories and friendships made here can last a lifetime.

Youth Education

We welcome all children to learn about God through Jesus Christ in our classrooms every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM from the Sunday after Labor Day through the second Sunday in June.

Please contact us at eddirector@stlukeslutheran.church for more information.

Children’s Sunday School

St. Luke’s offers its young students exciting learning opportunities.  We learn from the Bible God’s loving purposes for us and all creation.  Confirmation classes are for youth in grades 7 to 9 and meet during Sunday School.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

St. Luke’s offers a summer program to our youngsters about the importance of God in our lives.  Teens also participate by offering their abilities and talents in teaching the children.  The program is full of fun and exciting activities, creative projects, music, and more.
